Creative, gifted, talented, dedicated, and musical are just a few words to describe bassist extraordinaire, Thomas Adam Johnson. Currently bassist for artists Stephanie Mills, Cece Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Johnathan Nelson and Anthony Brown. Born in 1981 in Baltimore Maryland, Thomas Adam Johnson has been playing instruments since age 7. He started on the drums and then moved to the Hammond organ at age 11. By the age of 13, Adam began playing his father's Fender bass.
Adam's gift has taken him to Europe with blues singer Shirley Sidnor, and Japan with the late Dr. Nathan Carter to perform at the Blue Note in Osaka. He has also made television appearances on Dateline, Good Morning America, Joles Holland and MTV with Vivian Green, PBS with Darin Atwater and Soulful Symphony, and BET Bobby Jones Gospel with Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr singers.
Adam is featured on numerous albums including the Gospel Music Workshop of America Youth and Men's Choir, Rodney Bryant, Jeff Bradshaw, Jonathan Nelson and Purpose, and Jason Nelson. He has also accompanied artist such as Kim Burrell, Byron Cage, Maysa Leak, Phil Perry, Jill Scott, Carl Thomas, and Keisha Cole just to name a few.
Adam's lowend bass can be heard on Integrity's "praise and worship" artist, Stephen Hurd's new record.
